The Dodgers lost piece of their outfield a little over a week ago with A.J. Pollock undergoing right elbow surgery to remove a metal plate in his growth. For Pollock, this marks the third such operation on his right elbow dating back to 2010.
Today, it has been announced that Pollock has a PICC line in his bicep and will be sidelined for at least six weeks.
Pollock has a PICC line in his left bicep that he said he will need to keep in for antibiotics for the next six weeks to ensure the infection in his right elbow is cleaned out. No timetable yet for return.
While Pollock is out, Alex Verdugo and Chris Taylor are among the guys that will get the majority of the time in center field which allows Cody Bellinger and Joc Pederson to remain in the corner outfield positions.
Pollock signed a four-year contract with the Dodgers in the offseason. Although we don't have any specific info after 6 weeks, Pollock will still have plenty of time to turn things around.
