Looks like Elton Brand shut down any possible meeting between Simmons and Magic Johnson.
On Sunday, Johnson revealed Simmons wanted to pick his brain on some trade secrets about being a big point guard, per Marc Stein. Today, Elton Brand jumped on 97.5 The Fanatic and talked about Ben Simmons possibly working with Magic Johnson this offseason.
Rob Pelinka called me and said that Ben (Simmons) wanted to talk to Hall of Famers after the season, Magic was on list. He asked for authorization...I said no. This was over a month ago."
Johnson said he would for sure be willing to sit down with Simmons, but that got shut down very quickly by Elton Brand today. Simmons, 22, is currently averaging 16.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and 8 assists in 2018-19. He was named an All-Star for the first time in January.
