LeBron James sparked a debate that started at the beginning of this week by declaring himself the greatest NBA player of all time. Former players like Kevin McHale, Isiah Thomas, Chauncey Billups, and Chris Webber all chimed in on those comments.
On Thursday, Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge was what he thought of the Los Angeles Lakers star's recent comments on being the "Greatest Player Of All Time" and made an interesting comparison while also wondering why James would make those comments.
"His career's not over," Ainge said on 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Toucher & Rich." "I'd just like to -- why he's saying that, I don't know. Maybe he thinks that that sells. Maybe he's taking the Donald Trump approach and trying to sell himself. I don't know."
James' comments has been getting a lot of backlash ever since he said that after the 2016 championship he felt like he wast the greatest NBA player of all time. Danny Ainge went on to say that LeBron is definitely going to be in every conversation.
"Obviously LeBron is in every conversation with who is the greatest player of all time," he said. "But time will tell. I don't know if anyone knows who the greatest of all time is, because the years are so different."
