Earlier this month, Adrian Beltre announced his retirement after 21 seasons in the MLB in which he hit 477 home runs and just over 3,000 hits in his career. He put out a statement on Twitter saying that this was the end of a great career for him.
“After careful consideration and many sleepless nights, I have made the decision to retire from what I’ve been doing my whole life, which is playing baseball, the game I love,” Beltre said. “I have thought about it a lot and although I appreciate all the opportunities and everything that baseball has given me, it’s time to call it a career.”
Today, Beltre had his official press conference for his retirement with the Rangers, and it was revealed how he informed the Rangers of how he was going to retire.
"I've decided to play next year. Dodgers made me an offer. I'm going to play there."
Daniels was stumped.

Beltre played with the Dodgers until 2004, then was with the Seattle Mariners from 2005-09 and the Boston Red Sox in 2010. He joined the Rangers as a free agent in 2011 and appeared in one World Series in his first season with Texas.
What a career.
