The Dodgers are expected to hire Dino Ebel to be the third base coach to fill the vacancy left by Chris Woodward. Woodward moved on in the early part of this month to become the new manager of the Texas Rangers.
Ebel is certainly a name that Dodgers fans remember as he played for the Dodger minor affiliates in the Gulf Coast, Florida State and Pacific Coast Leagues before he went off to become the third base coach for the Angels.
The deal is not official but is very close to getting done according to Bill Plunkett. The Dodgers will continue to replaces vacancies left by Turner Ward, Danny Lehman, and Luis Ortiz to name a few.
