The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Have officially opted out of their lease with Orange County on Tuesday.
The city owns the 45,000-seat stadium, where the Angels have played for more than 50 years. Joe Carpino released an official statement today:
As we look to the future, we need the ability to continue to deliver a high-quality fan experience beyond what the original lease allows. It is important that we look at all our options and how we can best serve our fans now and in the future.
Now with this announcement, it definitely doesn't mean that the Angels are going to move. Officials with The Angels say that they will meet with the mayor and city council to discuss options on November 6th to see where they will go from there. Garvey said.
