Of course, the last LeBron James mural to go up in Los Angeles was painted over by the original artist, Jonas Never, just last week. The mural went viral, but backlash from Lakers fans over the text "King of LA" resulted in a vandalizing of the artwork.
The wording was changed to exclude the word "of", which appeared to be the main point of contention, but it still did not matter. The mural was vandalized again, and Never made the decision to paint over it for good.
Given the latest mural's ode to Lakers greats before James, it seems to be a safe bet that this one will be mostly absent of public backlash.
