The Los Angeles Dodgers delivered no shortage of highlights over the weekend, as their climb toward the top of the NL West standings continued with a sweep of the Rockies.
Dodgers rookie pitcher Dennis Santana notched a win in his big league debut on Friday, along with a two-run double for his first career hit. Matt Kemp also continued to make his MVP case with an impressive series, going 4-11 with two home runs, three RBIs and two runs scored in addition to some impressive defensive play in the outfield. On Sunday, the team stormed back to win after falling behind 6-1.
With Sunday's victory, the Dodgers stand just 2.5 games back of the Diamondbacks in the division.
