The Dodgers have lost All-Star shortstop Corey Seager for the rest of the season, adding to an already disappointing start to 2018.
The Dodgers announced the news on Twitter Monday afternoon that Seager will undergo season-ending Tommy John Surgery. Seager had been struggling all season long while dealing with a right elbow issue.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says that he intends to use Chris Taylor as the team's everyday shortstop.
In the meantime, Seager has been placed on the DL with a right UCL sprain and Breyvic Valera has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take his roster spot.
