Colin Cowherd: “It’s official, the Browns will consider acquiring Jimmy Garoppolo if Deshaun Watson’s six-game suspension increases. Initially, I didn’t think this was the play but if six games becomes 12 in a division with Burrow and Lamar Jackson, I think you have to consider it. This is why it makes sense – if you look at Kevin Stefanski and where he learned his offense from, there are connections to the Kyle Shanahan offense. The Cleveland offense has a lot of similarities to the Niners offense; excellent run game, very good o-line, productive tight end, not a deep receiving corps, but Deebo Samuel and Amari Cooper are both stars. This would be a very easy transition for Jimmy Garoppolo. It’s a lot of the same offense, and run-driven. You’re going to have a lot of the same schemes, and a lot of the same offense. This is a really easy transition for Garoppolo with the offense and the way they run it. Even the personnel is similar. The Niners weakness last year was ‘After Deebo, who did you trust on the perimeter?’ Brandon Aiyuk was talented but inconsistent, and that’s Cleveland’s issue, and why they got Amari Cooper. I know a lot of you are down on Garoppolo but he has won a lot of big games, and also go from a very tough division [AFC West], to a very tough division [AFC North]. He’s big-game Jimmy and goes from going up against Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray on national TV, to going up against Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow on national TV. For as low as his ceiling has been, he’s been ‘big game Jimmy.’" (Full Segment Above)
