Mookie Betts was in the starting today for the Dodgers originally until he was scratched from starting lineup just hours before first pitch.
Betts is dealing with renewed discomfort in his hip and it's serious enough this time around that he is going to need an extended period of rest. Billy McKinney is covering right field and batting eighth for Los Angeles on Tuesday night against the Phillies.
Manager Dave Roberts before the game vs. the Philadelphia Phillies gave an update on Mookie Betts and the hip injury:
"Yesterday the off day, he came in just achy, sore. Basically can't play. I don't know what other tests we may do. But to envision an IL (move) happening is very probable."
