Sandra Scully, the beloved wife of Los Angeles Dodgers' Hall of Fame announcer Vin Scully, passed away Sunday at the age of 76, the team announced on Monday. Sandra succumbed to complications from ALS despite "heroic efforts of the amazing team of doctors and nurses at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center," the team said in a statement.
In September, Vin Scully auctioned off years of his personal memorabilia, which raised over $2 million. He and his wife of 47 years donated a portion of the money to UCLA for ALS research.
The Scully family has asked everyone that donations are to be made to the Department of Neuromuscular Disease at UCLA/ALS Research under the name of Sandra Scully.
