Dodgers Reportedly Continuing To Show Interest In DJ LeMahieu

The hot stove is heating up.

According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Dodgers are reportedly still showing interest in signing DJ LeMahieu to a contract. Andrew Friedman said before the offseason that the Dodgers wanted to add to the bullpen & also add a right hand bat to insert into the lineup.

LeMahieu, who could fill in around the diamond, was the Yankees’ best all-around player over the past two seasons. In 2019, he hit .327 with 26 home runs and 102 runs batted in, finishing fourth in voting for American League most valuable player. In this year’s truncated 60-game season, he won his second batting title, leading the major leagues with a .364 average, and finished third in the A.L. M.V.P. voting.

LeMahieu’s initial contract ask was reported between five years and $100-$125 million, and it doesn’t seem like that has changed much here.
