Pat Sajak Calls 'Wheel Of Fortune' Contestant 'Ungrateful,' Apologizes

Thanksgiving was last week, when people try to be a little more appreciative for what they have in life, but when one contestant on Wheel of Fortune didn't seem to be doing that, host Pat Sajak let him have it.

It all went down after contestant Darin McBain correctly solved a puzzle that featured four objects that begin with the word "kitchen." They were "cabinet," "towels," "sink" and "oven." After winning the round, McBain questioned if anyone ever actually says "kitchen oven." At first, Pat asks Darin where else an oven would be, but then loses his composure a bit and, maybe jokingly maybe not, yells, "You won! Don't argue, Darin! You got the puzzle! Ungrateful players, I've had it!" before breaking into a smile and saying, "Just teasing."

Most people felt the host was only kidding, but others thought there was some truth to his outburst, though even if that was the case, plenty of fans felt it was justified. Either way, Pat went on to apologize to Darin later in the show.

Darin wound up in second place, but did pretty well, taking home over $15,000.

Interestingly, Darin's mom was also a contestant on the game show 30 years ago. Sajak, who has been hosting for 40 years, was at the helm back then as well, but did not have any issues with her.
