Shareef O'Neal Opens Up About The Death Of Kobe Bryant

As we continue to process the loss of the great Kobe Bryant and Gigi Bryant along with the 7 others that January morning, many people have come out and shared their stories on how they found of the passing.

Shaquille O'Neal's son Shareef spoke with Bleacher Report about Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and how everything unfolded the morning of death. He says Kobe texted him an hour before the January 26 helicopter crash that killed Kobe, his daughter Gianna and seven others.

Shareef took to Instagram to post the text messages sent by Kobe, and in the exchange, Kobe was checking in on Shareef, writing at 8:19 am, "You good fam?" Shaq's son replied at 10:58am, "Yeah! Just been getting this work in trying to figure out my next move," He followed with, "How you been?"

Shareef's mother was the one who called him to tell him that Kobe and Gigi had died, and Shareef says he just broke down when he heard the news. He also discusses his decision to go to LSU and the pressures of having a famous basketball player as a dad.
