Andrew Friedman has officially told the media today that he will sign a contract extension with the team.
President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman announced Monday that he and the Dodgers will finalize a contract extension “in the next couple of days.” His current five-year, $35-million deal was set to expire at the end of the month. Friedman was hired by the Dodgers back in the 2015 season and the Dodgers have won the division in each of those seasons and made two World Series appearances.
The Dodgers also announced last week that manager Dave Roberts would return for a fifth season. He will be entering the second year of a four-year deal.
