If the Dodgers want to acquire Felipe Vazquez from the Pittsburgh Pirates, it will be for a hefty price.
According to Buster Olney, the Pirates would for sure want No. 1 prospect Gavin Lux in any deal involved for the pitcher.
The Pirates-Dodgers talks about Felipe Vazquez currently bogged down in part because Pirates want No.1 prospect Gavin Lux and the Dodgers want to keep him.
Gavin Lux has been absolutely impressive and started out at Double-A Tulsa and continued after a promotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 21-year-old has made his starts at second base, but it is very unclear if he will be called up during the season. Lux’s versatility makes him of a huge value to the Dodgers and could be the deal breaker.
If the Dodgers end up acquiring Vazquez, they will be getting a dominant left arm. Vazquez 27-year old and will be under the team's control through 2023 season at $10M every season.
