With the Dodgers looking to avoid going to the bullpen down 6 runs, the Dodgers called on catcher Russell Martin to pitch and he delivered. He stepped up and pitched a 1-2-3 8th inning for the second time this year against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
As for the debut of Tony Gonsolin, the day came to an end after four innings, with six runs allowed (four earned) on six hits, to go along with three strikeouts and one walk. The biggest moment of the debut of Gonsolin was a line-drive single in his first at-bat.
