Mychal Thompson Speaks On Klay Thompson's Future With The Warriors

Klay Thompson's father Mychal Thompson told the San Francisco Chronicle's Connor Letourneau on Friday that there's "no question" his son will re-sign with the Golden State Warriors this summer.

It has been confirmed last night that Thompson suffered a torn left ACL during the Warriors' Game 6 elimination loss to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals and is expected to be sidelined for 9-to-10 months at the least.

As of right now, Klay Thompson is at the end of a 4-year, $69-million contract with the Warriors and it will be expiring in a couple weeks June 30. Before Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson suffered devastating injuries, the two were expected to be two of the NBA's most sought-after free agents this summer.

If Klay Thompson gets the max from the Golden State Warriors, he would fall in the five-year $190 million range.
