Doc Rivers Addresses The Lakers Coaching Rumors

Earlier this week, reports came out that Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers was interested in the Lakers job if they were to move on from Luke Walton. On Tuesday, Rivers heavily denied that those reports were true and even stated that he was working on an extension to stay with the Clippers.

Effectively, I’ve a job and the Lakers have a coach, No. 1, and I’m going nowhere,” Rivers mentioned, per ESPN. “I can inform you that. Straight and up entrance, I’m going to be right here till Steve says get out. I plan on being right here a very long time.”
“This is a great place to work."

Coming into Tuesday, the Lakers have been in 11th place within the Western Convention with a record of 31-40 in LeBron James’ first season in purple and gold. Walton has been the topic of that his days are numbered as the Lakers head coach.

Doc Rivers on the other hand, has the Clippers in the 8th seed in the Western Conference with a 42-20 record.
