On Monday, Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen had a procedure to undergo a heart procedure. It was his second ablation surgery in six years and is expected to be ready for spring training and available on opening day, the team announced.
In an interview with MLB Network, Kenley stated that he got a bunch of texts and emails from his teammates. But someone from the Dodgers organization came to see Kenley in the hospital room. Jansen said that as soon as he woke up from his 5 1/2 procedure, manager Dave Roberts who made the trip all the way from San Diego was right next to him to support.
When I got up the only person i saw next to me was Dave Roberts, like I hear his voice, that's my favorite man next to me.
Kenley mentions that Joc Pederson, Yasiel Puig, and former Dodgers General Manager Farhan Zaidi were some of the people that reached out to him but was ecstatic when he saw his "favorite man" Dave Roberts right next to him after the procedure. We are expected to see Kenley make a full recovery and be ready for spring training.
