It is official! Chargers Desmond King has been named AFC Defensive Player of the week which the NFL just announced today.
The play that sealed it was the 42-yard return interception for a touchdown vs. the Seahawks. According to Pro Football Focus, Desmond King is the highest graded cornerback in the NFL through nine weeks, and it's time he started to get more attention as one of the best in the league.
The pick-six was the second of his career and made King just the sixth player in NFL history and second defensive back ever to get multiple pick-sixes and at least four sacks over the first two seasons of his career. King has been a tremendous addition to an already great secondary.
