According to the Bill Shaikin of the L.A. Times, the Dodgers have started talking to manager Dave Roberts about a possible contract extension.
Roberts took a deal back in the fall of 2015 which included an option for the next season which the club hasn't taken any action on yet. Regardless of what happens the rest of the postseason, the Dodgers have a ton of respect for Roberts and the two sides definitely have started talking.
Bill Shaikin talked to Mark Walter, the chairman of the Dodgers, before a television interview and he had some things to say about signing Kershaw for life.
“Sure,” Walter said.
And Roberts?
“I don’t see any reason why not,” Walter said.
It is going to be very interesting to see how far Dave Roberts will take this Dodgers team this season and if not getting back to the World Series will change anything. Only time will tell if Roberts will stay in Los Angeles long term.
