Manny Machado Ready To Represent Historic Dodgers Franchise

Dodgers shortstop Manny Machado joined Petros and Money on Friday for an exclusive interview, just hours before playing his first game for the Boys in Blue.

Below are a few notable quotes from the interview.

Manny Machado on the emotions of the past few weeks, from trade rumors to officially becoming a member of the Dodgers:

It's been a crazy journey for me. [There were] all the trade rumors, but I'm just glad that it was coming to that Dodgers blue. They have a great team over here, great clubhouse and a very good chance to go a long ways, so just to come here and try to help this team win and just try to fit in and do my part in this great team that's here. I'm just really looking forward to it.

Manny Machado on what it means to wear a Dodgers uniform:

To come here and finally put on this jersey, it's going to be a little different going from orange to blue, but I'm just excited to put it on and know that behind that jersey is so much history.

Manny Machado on his first impression of the Dodgers clubhouse:

It's amazing, man. I came in here and it's very welcoming. The first glance I got was once I got traded, I saw [Justin] Turner and [Alex] Wood post a video up on Twitter or Instagram. Knowing them and knowing they're excited to have me over here, it just made it a lot easier to know that I'm going to be welcomed here. It just tells you everything you need to know about that clubhouse.

Manny Machado on his willingness to play multiple positions:

"First, third, outfield, it doesn't matter. I'm here to win."
