Orioles star shortstop Manny Machado is reportedly heading to the Dodgers.
Following a day in which reports of the Dodgers emerging as favorites in the Manny Machado sweepstakes quickly evolved into reports of an essentially done deal, FOX's Ken Rosenthal has confirmed that the 26-year-old, four-time All-Star is going to be a member of the Dodgers.
Top Dodgers OF prospect Yusniel Diaz is reportedly the centerpiece of the deal, with the rest of the details still to be worked out. Among the issues to be resolved is 'how much money, if any,' the Orioles are willing to send the Dodgers to help alleviate luxury tax concerns.
Since Rosenthal's tweet confirming the trade, several media members -- including AM 570 LA Sports' own Fred Roggin -- have also reported that the trade is happening.
It should be noted that nothing is official until the trade is announced by the clubs.
