Kobe Bryant Weighs In On LeBron To Lakers

Lakers legend Kobe Bryant joined Doug Gottlieb and Jason Smith on Monday morning (filling in for Dan Patrick) to give his initial thoughts on LeBron James joining the Purple & Gold.

James delivered the story on the 2018 NBA offseason on Sunday by agreeing to a four-year, $154 million deal with the Lakers.

There was initial speculation that Bryant would be put off by James' arrival, given the potential threat the three-time Finals MVP poses to his Lakers legacy. As it turns out, though, Bryant has been nothing but gracious since Sunday's news.

During the interview, Bryant discusses what this means for the franchise and why James is 'family' now.

"He is family now," Bryant said. "As a Laker, we will get back to that level. I remember Magic said it back when Shaq and I first came on board, and his unyielding support for us was something that we relied on heavily. We're all going to rally around LeBron and do the same."
