Cody Bellinger is the favorite to bring home National League Rookie of the Year honors when the award is handed down on Nov. 13. But while the 22-year-old awaits the presumed outcome from the baseball writers, he has already been recognized by his peers for a historic rookie season.
On Wednesday night at the Players Choice Awards, Bellinger was named the National League's Outstanding Rookie.
The honor follows a 2017 campaign in which Bellinger compiled a National League rookie record 39 home runs, and played an integral role in one of the greatest regular seasons in Dodgers franchise history.
