J.J. Watt's Hurricane Harvey fundraising surpasses $20 million

The healing power and transcendent nature of sports has been on full display in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, as countless individuals and organizations have poured time, money and resources into the relief efforts in South Texas.

No sports figure has been more prevalent in the early stages of the recovery than Houston Texans star J.J. Watt.

Watt, looking to find a way to help his city, set an initial donation goal at $500,000. Since then, donations have surpassed this mark tremendously — reaching $20 million on Tuesday.
