As a casual golfer that spent a decent portion of his high school days chopping it up at the amateur level, I have seen an abundance of fails involving water hazards -- but nothing quite like this.
Typically in this situation, with your ball situated on the edge of the drink, hubris takes over and you think it is possible to pull off a pro-caliber shot to avoid a one-stroke penalty. Almost always, it ends in, one, a wasted shot, and two, a soaking wet remainder of the round.
This is something else. I almost feel bad for the guy, who somehow manages to toss his sand wedge into the lake...on accident.
