Best of the weekend: Gonzo walk-off, Pierce farewell and more

It was an eventful weekend in the world of L.A. sports, with the Dodgers picking up a much-needed series sweep of the Phillies, the Clippers being eliminated from the playoffs and the NFL Draft wrapping up on Saturday.

Below are some of the top highlights from the weekend.

Cody Bellinger records first career home runs

Dave Roberts hinted on Friday that Bellinger's stay at the MLB level would be a short-term affair for the moment. With an impressive first weekend with the big league club, though, the 21-year-old just made that decision a bit more difficult.

Bellinger belted his first career home run on Saturday as part of a two-home-run outburst that helped spark a thrilling comeback. Check out the first of the two solo shots below.

Adrian Gonzalez walks off on Saturday

In the same game, Adrian Gonzalez capped off a three-run, ninth-inning comeback with a walk-off single.

Paul Pierce says farewell

The Clippers had yet another early exit this postseason, marking the beginning of an offseason that will be filled with uncertainty. The loss also signaled the end of Paul Pierce's prolific NBA career.
