Successful franchises typically establish a family-like environment between the organization and former players. According to Rams Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson, his old team is lacking severely in this area.
"It's like they're still stuck in St. Louis," Dickerson said, noting that the Rams have done a poor job of reaching out to former players since their move back to Los Angeles.
Rams Insider Vinny Bonsignore ponders if this is a case of the team ignoring former greats, or simply a case of non-football people making football decisions. Regardless, Dickerson finds the absence of former players involved with the Rams to be an egregious misstep.
Dickerson notes, however, that Sean McVay did reach out to him shortly after being hired as the team's head coach last week — a positive step in the right direction.
