If you love flying catches by outfielders, then Thursday was a day of baseball you cherished. The great catches were abound. Yasiel Puig was the ultimate show stealer with his incredible effort against the New York Mets. It was so good that even the Citi Field fans gave him a huge ovation.

What he did: In the second inning of the Los Angeles Dodgers' game with the Mets, Puig made a wild diving catch that looked improbable as the ball flew off Wilmer Flores' bat. He laid out and caught the ball backhanded.

Pay attention to: Puig jumping up right after and whipping the ball into first base. He almost managed a double play on that, which would have been even more ridiculous.
