Yasiel Puig Pleads Guilty To Lying To FBI About Illegal Gambling Operation

Former Dodger Yasiel Puig has agreed to plead guilty to a charge of lying to authorities about betting on sports events as part of an illegal gambling operation, the United States Attorney’s office announced Monday.

Puig has agreed to plead guilty to one count of making false statements, a crime that carries a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison. Puig is currently playing professional baseball in South Korea.
