Dodgers Announce Brandon Gomes Has Been Named General Manager

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced Tuesday morning that they have promoted Brandon Gomes to General Manager of the organization. He'll be the Dodgers' first GM since Farhan Zaidi left to run the Giants after the 2018 season.

Gomes will serve under president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman. In 2010, as Rays GM, Friedman acquired Gomes (a pitcher) and three other players from Padres for SS Jason Bartlett. Former major league pitcher Gomes has climbed since joining the Dodgers' front office in 2016.
