Petition Starts To Make Kobe Bryant The New NBA Logo

Kobe Bryant had one of the most decorated careers not only in the history of basketball but in sports. The former Los Angeles Laker played 20 seasons in the NBA, won five NBA championships, was an 18-time All-Star, and a four-time All-Star MVP.

Kobe ultimately retired from basketball in 2016. He went on to earn an Oscar for Best Animated Short. On January 26, 2020, Kobe’s life was tragically cut short at 41 in a helicopter crash that also took the life of his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Maria Onore Bryant.

Bryant's passing just leaves a massive hole in everybody's hearts and now basketball fans around the world are petitioning to immortalise Bryant forever, by making him the new NBA logo.

"With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalise him forever as the new NBA Logo," creator Nick M wrote on Change.org.

The petition has gone viral, with 168,000 people and counting signing in less than 24 hours.
