Clayton Kershaw Expected To Make His Season Debut Monday Vs. Reds

He is officially back!

Dodger Insider has announced that Clayton Kershaw will be making his 2019 season debut against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday. The southpaw is yet to pitch this year because of lingering shoulder concerns.

According to Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times noted the plan is for Kershaw to take Julio Urias' spot in the rotation following the former's second rehab start in Double-A. Urias has been solid in the rotation so far this year as he has only allowed three earned runs and seven hits in 8.2 innings in his first two starts and is scheduled to pitch Friday against theMilwaukee Brewers.

Kershaw won't be wearing his #22 jersey when he makes his debut on Monday. Since it is Jackie Robinson Day, he and every other player will wear #42 to honor him.
