Report: Manny Machado To Dodgers 'Barring Last Minute Snag'

Barring a last-minute holdup, it appears that Manny Machado is heading to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the Orioles will send their superstar shortstop to the Dodgers on Wednesday 'barring a last minute snag.' The article also notes that the trade has not been finalized, and the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies remain in discussions with the Orioles.

It should be noted that in order to remain under the luxury tax, the Dodgers would have to include a major league player in the deal. It has also been reported that the Dodgers' offer for Manny Machado includes the team's No. 4 prospect -- OF Yusniel Diaz. Diaz appears to be gaining interest after stealing the show at this week's Futures Game with a pair of home run bombs.

Jon Heyman, who broke the news Monday morning that the Dodgers had emerged as leaders in the Manny Machado sweepstakes, has yet to report a done deal. He does, however, continue to refer to the Dodgers as the current leaders to land Machado.
